Hekta Sirdal
Our goal is that coming to Hekta should feel like returning to Grandma's kitchen. This is one of the best things we can hear from our customers. We seek to draw inspiration from old traditions, with a short distance from farm to plate. We want our guests to experience authentic taste and quality in every bite.
Hekta is the result of two city women who found love in the countryside. Both moved to Sirdal, where they married a farmer's son. Despite their newfound love for country life, they missed a café where they could get good food, good coffee, and a place where both locals and visitors could meet. Both had a strong desire to create something, and they soon discovered they shared a common dream.
On July 1, 2021, they met at the local store in GP. Their conversation quickly turned to future plans, and it became the start of a beautiful partnership and friendship. After 20 months of planning, hard work, and dreaming, they finally opened their own café on March 18, 2023. This café is more than just a place to get fresh and honest baked goods – it’s a place that honors Sirdal's culture and traditions. A meeting place where people can come together, where city meets countryside.
Today, they live out their dream with the world's best team behind them. They continually work towards new goals, but most of all, they love baking and meeting the amazing customers who visit them every day.

This principle also applies to the food we serve. In a world where everything must happen quickly and yield the same result every time, we have chosen a different path. We align ourselves with time, natural processes, and knowledge. Our approach to baking and cooking is that the ingredients we use should be ones our great-great-grandparents would have understood and had access to.
